More about Irma, The Ethnic Gypsy & Ubuntu:

Rooted in Ritual. Wild at Heart. Yoga in Rifle CO

If you think yoga is only for flexible people who drink green juice and sit cross-legged all day—good news: it’s not.
Yoga is for stiff backs, busy minds, stressed bodies, and anyone who wants to feel better without getting destroyed at the gym. You’ll stretch, build strength, breathe, relax, and maybe realize you didn’t think about your to-do list for a whole hour.

Irma is the founder of The Ethnic Gypsy and a visionary behind the emerging Ubuntu Soul Collective, inspired by the Zulu proverb:
“I am because we are.”

About Irma

I’m Irma — a 200-hour certified yoga teacher (YTT 200), Reiki II practitioner, Crystal Reiki Master, and the heart behind The Ethnic Gypsy – Ubuntu Soul Collective.

Yoga has been a huge part of my own healing journey, helping me move from constant stress and survival mode into more peace, strength, and self-trust.

My teaching style is:

soft, gentle, steady, warm, and guiding.

My intention is to create a space where you feel welcome, seen, and supported, exactly as you are — no performance, no judgment, no expectations to be anything other than yourself.

Ubuntu Explained:

The Spirit of Ubuntu:

I Am Because We Are

Ubuntu isn’t just a word—it’s a way of seeing the world.
It reminds us that our lives are woven together; that who we are is shaped by how we show up for one another. In every exchange—whether it’s a shared breath in yoga, a smile between strangers, or the silent work of healing—we touch the collective fabric of humanity.

To live with Ubuntu is to move through the world with empathy, humility, and awareness. It’s understanding that my light is no brighter than yours, and when I help you rise, I rise too.

Ubuntu Soul Collective was born from that truth.
It’s a space where individuality and unity meet—where your healing strengthens the whole, and the whole holds space for your becoming.
In practice, it looks like this:

  • When we step on the mat, we honor not only our own body but the shared energy in the room.

  • When we heal ourselves, we ripple that healing outward.

  • When we create art, we express something universal through something deeply personal.

Ubuntu calls us back to connection—
to community, to compassion, to the quiet knowing that we are never walking alone.

FAQs

Do I need to be flexible?

1

Nope. If you’re stiff, tight, or feel like your body has opinions—that’s exactly why yoga helps.

I’ve never done yoga. Is that okay?

2

Absolutely. Most people start with zero experience. You’ll be guided the whole time and can’t mess it up.

What if I’m out of shape or have limitations?

3

Yoga meets you where you are. You can rest, modify, or skip anything. Listening to your body is part of the practice.

Am I going to look stupid?

4

Only if breathing and wobbling count—which means we all look stupid together. No mirrors. No judgment. Nobody cares about how you look, they only care about how they look.
